In The Dock Light - CreativeHUT
With the rise of AI and automation, robotics, and the Internet of Things, it's essential that individuals and organisations learn and adapt to new technologies

There's no question that the future of work is digital.
However, research by STEM Learning shows that 89% of STEM businesses have found it difficult to recruit staff with the required skills, leading to a shortfall of over 173,000 workers, an average of 10 unfilled roles per business.
With so many businesses struggling to fill digital roles, the need for hands-on learning has never been greater. That's where our client Creative Hut comes in.
In this first edition of In The Dock Light, we'll explore how Creative Hut sparks curiosity in kids through the latest digital tech.
Who are Creative Hut?
Creative Hut is a creative company that supports global educational initiatives in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) subjects, music, and ESports.
They help children and adults find their passion for these subjects by letting them get hands-on and creative with cutting-edge products and services.
For example, Creative Hut sells drones, 3D printers, virtual reality headsets, and educational robots to help learners develop creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
But as impressive as their product range is, Creative Hut's business is about more than selling cool gadgets. It's about giving people hands-on experiences by creating interactive learning spaces and workshops to help them prepare for the future.
It's fascinating, high-tech stuff that's making a genuine impact on modern learning.
We’re thrilled to be involved with such a forward-thinking company.
Why is Creative Hut's work important?
While the demand for digital skills is soaring, too many children are still being left behind.
Creative Hut helps close learning inequality gaps and make sure that all young people can access educational technology. Giving young people and adult learners the chance to engage with STEAM subjects is a massive contributor to igniting ambition and self-belief.
For organisations in the technology sector, like us, it's crucial that as many people as possible have the skills, confidence, and aspirations to work in our industry.
By introducing kids to things they've never tried before, Creative Hut's work shows there are employment opportunities in STEAM areas. That's vital for the future.
What type of clients does Creative Hut work with?
Creative Hut primarily works with schools, community groups, and businesses.
From supporting education providers with curriculum-enhancing tools to creating interactive learning spaces for charities, they identify the most effective resources for enhancing education.
For example, teachers looking to bring creative education to the classroom can get advice and order the latest products directly from Creative Hut's online store. At the same time, organisations can partner with Creative Hut to build these incredible immersive learning spaces that local schools and community groups can access.
In short, if you're looking to encourage engagement with STEAM, Creative Hut has a solution.
Sounds good. Does Creative Hut have any case studies?
They've got loads. But the standout one for us is their work with Everton in the Community (EITC), one of the UK's top sporting charities, which provides routes into education, training, and employment.
EITC partnered with Creative Hut to develop and launch a Digital Skills Lab for Merseyside as part of their E-STEAM project
The lab, launched in 2022, is an inspiring and creative environment that offers access to cutting-edge STEAM resources, including robotics, VR, drones, 3D printers and laser cutters.
Creative Hut helped train the EITC staff to deliver sessions for local schools and adult learners to develop the skills needed for exciting, modern careers.
So far, the programme has engaged more than 1,200 students from 63 different schools across Merseyside.
It's an astonishing achievement that captures the essence of Creative Hut's work.
How will Dock help Creative Hut improve?
Creative Hut's website is packed with fantastic products, but it hasn't previously fully captured their mission. Together, we're reimagining their platform to reflect their full impact, turning it into a space as dynamic and interactive as the experiences they offer.
We're confident our portfolio of providing digital solutions for tech education businesses, like Teach Active, can take them to the next level.
Creative Hut said our workshops are "the best we've ever been involved with", so it's a promising start. We're approaching the build phase with a view of launching in the next six weeks.
We can't wait to show you the transformation. In the meantime, if you want to see innovation in action, check out Creative Hut's work. You might be inspired to bring some digital creativity into your own work.
